India’s first and only cruise line training institute in hospitality training institute not only enhances the technical skills of its students but also ensures their employability.

The Indus Institute of Hospitality & Culinary Arts was established in 1998, and is India’s first and only hospitality institute specifically geared towards providing training for potential cruise line employment and can justifiably boast of an almost 100% placement record. The institute started off in Gurgaon as India’s first culinary training institute for continental cuisine. It was then shifted to to Whitefield, Bangalore in 2003, and is now located in Chennai since 2010.

The Indus Institute offers the best in cruise line training and remains focused on providing short-term hands-on practical courses to upgrade the technical skills of not only cooks and chefs to meet the recruitment criteria for Kitchen staff on cruise ships, but also potential recruits for Bakery & Patisserie, Cabin Stewarding, Galley Stewarding and F&B Service departments on board. Carnival Cruise Lines continues to recruit on campus, as do Crystal Cruises and Apollo Ship Management.

The Indus Institute is an accredited training center for City & Guilds (UK) and also offers 18-month Diploma courses in culinary arts and bakery & confectionery aimed at fresh school leavers, certified by the Bharat Seva Samaj, a government initiative to provide vocation education to India’s youth, with an option to also get certified by City & Guilds (UK).
