Manikandan.P General Manager – Chennai / Principal – Indus Institute

Manikandan is an industry veteran with twenty years of experience and an MBA in Hotel Management from Maastricht Hotel Management School in the Netherlands; he also has a B.Com from the University of Madras and a Certificate in Food Production from IHM Chennai. He brings a wealth of industry and academic experience to his responsibilities as business development head for the Indus Institute. Starting his career with Oberoi and Taj Hotels, he adds eight years of F&B experience with Royal Caribbean Cruises-USA as Asst Food Manager, as well as similar positions with Amsterdam Marriot Hotel in the Netherlands and Asiana Hotels in India. Prior to joining Indus he was for 6 years the Principal of Bell Institute of Hotel Management in Sivakasi.

J.Lalithashri Vice Principal – Indus Institute

A graduate of Canan School of Catering & Hotel Management, Chennai and with a BA in Public Administration from Osmania University, MBA in Tourism and Hotel Management, Ms. Lalithashri has had a varied experience in the hospitality sector. She has been a F&B hostess in a 5-star hotel, F&B Manager in a super-speciality hospital, and senior trainer in various institutes such as National School of Catering & Hotel Management, Chennai and Frankfinn Institute of Air Hostess Training, Chennai. At Indus, apart from teaching communication skills, Ms. Lalithashri handles marketing/business development.

Chef. Venkatesan Janakiraman Chef Instructor – Culinary

Chef Ventakesan is an alumnus (2004) and previous trainer (2008) of the Indus Institute and now heads the Culinary programme . He previously worked with Carnival Cruise Lines and Oceania cruises as well as with ITC Kakatiya Sheraton, Hyderabad, and Medici restaurant and Palm Meadows Club Resorts in Bangalore.

Mr. Melroy Dougherty Instructor – Food & Beverage Service

Mr. Dougherty is a veteran in restaurant and bar management with over 15 years of experience in hotels and cruise lines, having worked with the Krishna Oberoi-Hyderabad and with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, USA, before joining the Indus Institute as an F & B trainer.

Chef Ganesh Nagaratnam Chef Instructor – Culinary

Chef Ganesh with over 15 years of experience with hotel & cruise lines , has worked with ITC Grand Kakatiya Sherton, Hyderabad , Tuscana Restaurants, Chennai by Chef Willi and 13 years with Carnival Cruise Lines,TUI Cruises and Viking Cruises.

Sangeetha D. Instructor – Housekeeping

Ms. Sangeetha holds a Diploma in Hospitality Management from the Canan Institute of Catering and Hotel Management, Chennai and has over 12 years of experience in hospitality services in the areas of facility operations, administration, training and placement.

Vijayasamundeswari Instructor – Communications and Soft Skills

Ms. Vijayasamundeswari graduated with a BSc in Hotel Management from the SRM institute of Hotel Management, Chennai, and obtained an MBA in Tourism and Hospitality from JNT University, Hyderabad. After training with several 5-star properties, she worked as an events organizer in Chennai and Hyderabad and as Business Development Executeve at Chariot Beach Resorts before joining Indus.
