Manikandan is an industry veteran with 22 years of experience and an MBA in Hotel Management from Maastricht Hotel Management School in the Netherlands; he also has a B.Com from the University of Madras and a Certificate in Food Production from IHM Chennai. He brings a wealth of industry and academic experience to his responsibilities as Regional Director – South India for Indus. Starting his career with Oberoi and Taj Hotels, he adds eight years of F&B experience with Royal Caribbean Cruises-USA as Asst. Food Manager, as well as similar positions with Amsterdam Marriot Hotel in the Netherlands and Asiana Hotels in India. Prior to joining Indus he was for 6 years the Principal of Bell Institute of Hotel Management in Sivakasi.
Chef Arunachalem G S

Chef Arunachalem GS
Chef Instructor – Bakery

Chef Arunachalem has over 20 years of experience in bakery and pastry. He holds a certificate in food production and bakery/Patisserie from IHM Chennai. Having started his career with Sheraton Park Hotel Chennai in 1993, he worked on Royal Caribbean cruise line as a pastry Chef for ten years. Post cruise experience he served as pastry chef in reputed bakery chains such as La Boulangerie, Pantr d’or and Ginger bread and worked with known chefs like Chef Roger and Chef Michelle . He was with SRM Institute of Hotel Management briefly.
Chef Ganesh Nagaratnam

Chef Ganesh, with over 20 years’ experience in hotel & cruise lines , has worked with ITC Grand Kakatiya Sherton Hyderabad , Tuscana Restaurants by Chef Willi and worked for 13 years with Carnival Cruise Lines, TUI Cruises and Viking Cruises.
Chef Shameem Ali

Chef Shameem holds a diploma in hotel management and catering technology. He brings 18 years of culinary experience to Indus. He worked as a chef in the Carribbean, Middle East and other countries in Asia. During his career he has been associated with famous brands such as IHG, Alfardan Hospitality, Westin and Foster food fair.
Sangeetha Dinesh

Sangeetha Dinesh
Instructor – Housekeeping

Sangeetha brings over 17 years of experience in the hospitality industry and academia. A graduate from Canan School of Catering and Hotel Management, she is a certified trainer for housekeeping and front office by American Hotel and Lodging Association. Apart from having worked as a facilities management professional at Hotel Residency Chennai & Sterling Info tech, she has been a lecturer and placement coordinator with Canan School of Catering and Hotel management.
Melroy Dougherty

Melroy Dougherty
Instructor – Food & Beverage Service

Melroy is a veteran in restaurant and bar management with over 20 years’ experience in hotels and cruise lines, having worked with the Krishna Oberoi-Hyderabad and with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, USA, before joining the Indus Institute as an F & B trainer.

Instructor – Galley Stewarding

Sulthan is a Bachelor of Science in hotel and catering management from University of Madras. He brings 14 years’ experience from having worked in cruise lines and the hotel industry. He worked with P&O Cruise Lines U.K., TUI Cruises USA, Quality Inn Sabari, Rendezvous Restaurant in Chennai before joining Indus.
Athiya Fathima

Athiya Fatima
Instructor – Communications

Athiya has 9 years of experience in the hospitality industry. With a Bachelor Degree from Madras Christian College and Post Graduate diploma in Air Ticketing and Travel Management, she has worked with GO Air, Air Arabia and also in the front office of Radha Regent Group of Hotels. She was also a Trainer & Placement Manager in various hospitality institutes like Frankfinn, Nest Aviation and Chennai Amrita Institute of Hotel Management.
Sathiya Subramanian

Sathiya Subramanian
Instructor – Communications & Soft Skills

Sathiya has an academic and corporate experience of 11 years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s Degree in Computer Applications. As a lecturer in computer science, she has served many reputed institutions such as Hindustan University, Stella Maris College in Chennai, India and University College, University of Maryland, USA. Her inclination has been towards teaching soft skills & communication. Her motivation to improve communication skills for young minds helps them to achieve their professional goals.

She worked in The Carlton Hotel, Kodaikanal and as an Assistant Lecturer, Housekeeping in SRM Institute of Hotel Management, Trichy. She has thereafter completed 5 years with various MNC’s in sales and administration.

Debbie is a wellness professional with 12 years of international experience. A graduate in English, she is certified in the internationally recognised CIDESCO Certificate in Spa and Beauty. She has worked in Dubai and India with various brands such as Cleopatra, Steiner, Dubai, Radisson Hotel Chennai and Le Kazme Dane, a Belgian company at Trichy.
