On 21-11-2017 , the fruit mixing ceremony by students and staff, marked the beginning of the Christmas festive season. It is a traditional practice followed since 17th century, where chopped dried fruit, nuts and spices are mixed together with the combination of Rum, Brandy and Cognac by communities. This mixture is then stored in an airtight container for about a month, allowing the fruit to soak up the alcohol, and then used to make Christmas fruit cake and Christmas pudding.
