29th February 2012

At the end of February 2012, The Indus Institute had the great pleasure of welcoming Mr. Nicholas J. Manring, Chief Consul for the USA Consulate in Chennai, for a visit that he had requested. He was accompanied by visa officers Ms. Sarah Talalay, Ms. Alyssa Caralla and Mr. Peter Lohman.

They were shown around the institute by Mr. Vinodkumar, Principal of The Indus Institute, Ms. Christina George, Manager of Indus’s Chennai office and Ms. Laveeniya Saldanha, Manager of our Mumbai office, where they had an opportunity to watch various practical sessions in progress . They also met and interacted with the institute faculty, staff and students, and were briefed about the various processes followed by the institute and branch office in selecting, training and interviewing the potential cruise line candidates and processing the selected crew members for departure to the US port of joining.

Mr. Manring congratulated the Indus Institute team for producing “outstanding candidates” and said that now they understood why Indus candidates made a distinct impression at the visa interviews. “We now understand what Indus stands for, the rigorous selection process that you follow and the complete documentation that your candidates present at the visa interview to give them the best chance of a favourable outcome.”
