Capt. Amarjeet Vidyarthi, Managing Director
Capt. Vidyarthi is a Master Mariner with over 50 years experience spanning both ship as well as shore operations, and has spent the major part of his professional career in the recruitment and management of shipboard personnel. Over 30 years ago, he pioneered the recruitment of Indian hotel staff for the international cruise industry. He set up the present organization in 1996 specializing in recruitment for the hospitality industry both in India and abroad (including cruise lines) and in 1998, also set up India’s first specialized culinary training institution in advanced continental cuisine.
Indrani Vidyarthi, Director
Mrs. Vidyarthi has a career spanning over 40 years in hotels (in both operations and marketing functions), travel & tourism, and market research. She oversees the administration, marketing and corporate communications for the company, and is also Managing Director of Indus’s Singapore subsidiary.
Bimal Bodaji, Director – Training and Business Development
Bimal brings to us a wealth of cruise line experience having spent over 22 years with Carnival Cruise Lines, where, as Sr. Maitre D’Hotel, he oversaw the entire F&B service operations on board, which also included training. Prior to that he had worked for 4 years in high-end resorts and clubs in Dubai. An alumnus of Sophia Polytechnic with an Associate Degree in Hotel Management, he also holds a BA degree in Sociology, Public Administration and Political Science from Osmania University. Over the years, he has acquired a variety of Professional Development, Leadership, and Train the Trainer Certificates from Johnson & Wales University and Carnival College of Management.
Anthony Gaskell, Regional Director – Goa
Mr Gaskell is a British national and a veteran in shipping agency work. He has spent over 17 years with an international shipping line based in India. He has experience in various commercial functions and over 6 years running an international shipping agency network. In his career, he has been based in UK, Saudi Arabia, India and UAE, and currently resides in Goa. He is a graduate from the prestigious Cambridge University in UK.
Manikandan P, Regional Director – South India
Manikandan is an industry veteran with twenty years of experience and a MBA in Hotel Management from Maastricht Hotel Management School in the Netherlands; he also has a B.Com from the University of Madras and a Certificate in Food Production from IHM Chennai. He brings a wealth of industry and academic experience to his responsibilities as business development head for the Indus Institute. Starting his career with Oberoi and Taj Hotels, he adds eight years of F&B experience with Royal Caribbean Cruises-USA as Asst Food Manager, as well as similar positions with Amsterdam Marriot Hotel in the Netherlands and Asiana Hotels in India. Prior to joining Indus he was for 6 years the Principal of Bell Institute of Hotel Management in Sivakasi.
Thirulok Chand V, Sr. Manager – South India
Chef Thirulok, a graduate of IHM Chennai, is in charge of the recruitment and processing of cruise line candidates in Chennai. Starting his professional career with a short stint at The Patio, the fine dining French restaurant at the Taj Coromandel, Chennai, he worked for 2 years with Carnival Cruise Lines as DCDP, and 1 year with Costa Cruises as CDP. He has also worked with the Taj and Oberoi flight kitchens in Chennai and briefly ran a bakery and restaurant in partnership with other chefs.
Nivea Rodrigues, Manager – Processing
Nivea has a background in Accounts and Administration, and handles the post-recruitment processing of crew members from the time of recruitment till their departure for their joining port.
Laveeniya Saldanha, Director – Operations, Mumbai
Based at Indus’s Head Office, Laveeniya is in charge of the recruitment operations of the company. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel & Hospitality Administration from IHM Goa and a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai. She started her professional career with The Leela, Goa as Hotel Operations Trainee and had worked with Akshar Recruitment Consultancy handling their recruitment for the hospitality and customer service sectors before joining Indus.
Mohita Chandhoke, Manager – Delhi/North India
Mohita has a Diploma in Food Processing and Patisserie from IHM Mumbai, and has worked with ITC Mughal Sheraton as a Chef Trainee and as Centre Head of Lakshya Institute in Uttakhand. She has been handling recruitment and processing from Delhi &North India, as well as administration and training at the Indus Institute when it was first started in Gurgaon.
Ms. Ranee Saikia Barthakur, Asst. Manager – Guwahati
Ranee, brings a rich career of 18 years in the line of beauty therapy. With an Arts degree and a Diploma in Beauty Therapy and Hair Dressing from Woman’s World International, New Delhi; she has been a successful practitioner with the likes of Jawed Habib, before becoming an entrepreneur in India and Africa, running her own Salon.
She is also a youth trainer, with communication skills that transcend the pure theoretical, covering body spa, hair and beauty.
